FUT Follicular Unit Transplantation
A hairy skin strip of 20-25 cm length and 2-3 cm width is extracted from the back of the head with the help of a scalpel. Hair follicles to be transplanted are obtained by cutting the strip into very small pieces.
The area where the skin strip has been removed is closed by stitching up one by one. Stitches are removed in two weeks of time. A scar leaves among the hair on the back of the head. It is a permanent scar and can be noticed by others in case of a short haircut.
You may not have a good sleep immediately after the operation.
In addition, the patients may in some feel tightness at the back of the neck for long years due to a cut of 20 cm and the stitches.
